Anura Neysadurai

Anura Neysadurai is the founder and musical mastermind of Spectrum Audio Pte Ltd. Born and raised in Singapore, Anura found inspiration for making music early on as a songwriter and keyboardist in the Singapore pop rock band “Do Not Ask” during his junior college and army years. They were signed by Jimmy Wee to Pony Canyon Singapore and their first Album “Just Play it” was released in 1992. At university in the USA, he played with a blues and rock and roll band in the Chicago area, and then the reggae band “Urban Roots” in Austin, Texas, while completing his undergraduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He moved to Houston, Texas, in 1997 where he worked with Hewlett-Packard Computers as an electrical and computer engineer specializing in Audio and Graphics hardware design for personal computers. It was in Houston that Anura joined up with “D.R.U.M. (Divine Rhythm United Motion)”, an award winning Reggae and World Rhythm Band and went on to create Drumusic Studios in 2000.

Drumusic Studios was borne from the frustrations that the band felt when trying to record their own music. Their mission was to develop a recording studio that fosters creativity and caters to the musician. Anura has the unique perspective of a live musician on stage as well as an audio engineer both in the studio and for live sound concerts. This combined with his knowledge of analog and digital audio design engineering from his years at HP, he created a well-designed, professional recording studio with the right equipment to capture and enhance any type of sound at the highest audio quality. D.R.U.M. released several albums recorded at Drumusic Studios and in 2010 one of their singles hit a peak position of 18 on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales chart!

Anura has worked with many Artists of a variety of genres at Drumusic studios including Blues, Pop, Rock, Jazz, RnB, Soul, Funk, Rap, Hip-hop and Gospel. Of special note are Gary Shider of Parliament – Funkadelic (Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!), Hanq Neil (Grammy nominated Gospel Artist) and Omari Banks from Anguilla (his debut album which was recorded at Drumusic Studios and in Kingston Jamaica is listed #4 on the Top Reggae Albums of 2015).

In 2009 Drumusic studios caught the attention of music producer, Preston Middleton. Anura teamed up with Preston to form Next Wave Entertainment Properties LLC and together with Wade Edwards Jr., they started the production team, Mission 7. Mission 7 expanded their repertoire to include Dance and EDM. Misson 7 at Drumusic Studios has worked with Artists such as Tami LaTrell (Tami is a multi-platinum GRAMMY-nominated songwriter who’s written for artist’s such as Whitney Houston, Monica, Keyshia Cole and SWV to name a few) and Marcie Chapa ( Marcie was the touring percussionist for Beyonce, Jenifer Lopez, Black Girls Rock and Jaci Velasquez).

Anura moved back to Singapore in 2018, after getting married. With a wealth of over 30 years of experience in the international music industry and with hundreds of recordings under his belt, Anura built Spectrum Audio studios, back on home ground. He brings with him his mix of carefully-selected top quality professional recording gear, housed in a modern acoustically designed studio, to Singapore artists! No producer or audio engineer understands the passion and aspiration in a musician’s journey like himself. Anura continuously aspires to elevate the music industry standard through his client’s creations with the newly formed Spectrum Audio company.
